Bill Barhydt is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Abra, which he started in 2014 to make digital asset wealth management accessible to individuals and institutions worldwide. He also serves as Chief Investment Officer of Abra Capital Management, the firm's SEC-registered investment adviser, and chairs the board of the Algorand Foundation. Before Abra he founded and led Boom Financial, a mobile money company acquired by Digicel, and held engineering and business roles at Goldman Sachs, Netscape, NASA, and the CIA. He delivered what is widely cited as the first TED talk on Bitcoin in 2012 and created one of the first synthetic dollar stablecoins built on Bitcoin in 2015. Bill holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
